Here we have it, your Baker Street Babe Fandom Guide to the BSI Weekend in New York City, this year starting on January 9th. Below will be a guide to everything for the uninitiated/internet-fans, plus a few little facts and details.

There’s lots of events happening over The Weekend, some more fandom friendly than others (some are invite only, ticketed, etc) The Babes are going to be out in full force this weekend, two of us are coming over from the UK! So, we’d really love to meet a lot of you, as we mostly operate events in London! The Babes that will be at BSI Weekend are Curly, Lyndsay, Taylor, Ardy, & Kafers.

We will be live-tweeting/tumblring as much as possible, so keep an eye on our twitter and the hashtag #BSIWeekend. We hope to see a lot of you out there! And now on to the events!

UK Premier of ‘The Hobbit’ Gets the Royal Treatment!

The world was granted an exciting and candid view into the UK Premiere of Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit’ today via Warner Brothers and Youtube. Viewers were able to see each of the key cast and director Peter Jackson walk the red carpet, be interviewed and finally, meet Prince William.

Here are a few of our favorite moments. Martin Freeman looked dapper as always, and Amanda Abbington was simply gorgeous while the two of them tried to keep warm before entering. Especially heartwarming was the attention Martin paid to fans who had lined up hours in the cold to try to get a glimpse, autograph or photo. Those tuning in were also granted a special moment seeing star Martin Freeman meeting Prince William.

We simply can’t wait to see the film! Keep checking back for our rsvp link and full details to our December 29th viewing and End of Year Party in NYC!

You may also view the previously recorded premiere here (via Warner Brothers)

Hey folks! SAVE THE DATE!
SherlockNYC End of Year Party, Sherlock Gift Swap and Hobbit movie meetup on 12/29!
 Details soon!

UPDATE!
Hi guys! The graphic girls are super busy, so expect a finalized poster soon. However, here are the details so far. The exact times will be updated asap! (Hoping this weekend depending on the AMC staff we’re working with)
We’ll post the exact times asap, so keep checking back. For now, it would be safe to say between travel, movie and party time, you should save the entire day for fun!
Starting at 10:30 am - 12 pm* Movie meetup: THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY / AMC LOEWS LINCOLN SQUARE 13 / cost: $8-12 (will update)
         * The theater won’t have the exact time until 2 weeks before the showing,        but we’re trying to get a solidified time sooner - we’ll keep you updated. We’ll be going to the first showing of the day and meeting 45 minutes before the showtime so we can pick up tickets, get snacks and take our seats as a group
starting at 3:00 - 4:00 pm * - SHERLOCKNYC END OF YEAR PARTY / West Side YMCA / cost $15 - $20
      * Again, we’ll have the exact start time asap!
We’ll be celebrating a year as a group with games, prizes and food! Cost helps with the venue rental, prizes and refreshments! However, if there is an awesome holiday recipe you’d like to bring (cookies, dip, appetizers) - feel free to bring them for a free prize!
During our party - SHERLOCK SWAP (voluntary) - est cost per gift = $10
This is completely voluntary, so don’t feel obliged! However, we’d love to have a ‘Sherlock Swap’ - where you bring a Sherlock Holmes related gift (though we won’t disapprove of a related fandom gift….. Hobbit, or Star Trek, etc - as long as it supports a cast member of a Sherlock Holmes related project!) Have a favorite Sherlock Holmes pastiche? Awesome! Sherlock Holmes graphic novel? Grab it! Want to buy fan art or buttons by your favorite artists! Bring it!  Obsessed with Cara’s Adagio fandom teas as much as us? Order it asap! Knit or draw yourself? Gifts can be home made too, with an estimated value of $10.
WE REALLY HOPE YOU CAN MAKE IT - PLEASE KEEP CHECKING BACK FOR A LINK TO RSVP AND DETAILS ASAP. BUT SAVE THE DATE AND SHOULD YOU LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SWAP, YOU SHOULD ORDER GIFTS ASAP!
Thanks everyone!
